Numbers 1-7

Last night I finally watched Notorious. It made me realize how much I actually like Biggie Smalls. Good stuff. I'm gonna listen to some hip-hop during this entry.

A lot of things have been happening recently:
  1. Lo-Fidelity is back in motion. Check the site, submit things, etc. We're looking for some art! But keep sending the writing, too.
  2. The Broad Set Writing Collective has gotten more readers, so more and more people are asking us to review things. It makes me excited.
  3. DJ Berndt was interviewed at HTMLGIANT. Read it here.
  4. Pangur Ban Party is developing a print, soon to be sent out.
  5. PBP was also recently added to Duotrope.
  6. Blake Butler is holding a writing contest - lots of cool prizes. It's also free.
  7. Milo Stevens has a new story up, go check it out.
I'm starting something new with every update. I am going to include the song I am currently listening to. I think this will increase my site's traffic by .05%.

We're baaccckkkkk

Lo-Fidelity is back on the market! Earlier today, Sam took the reins and grabbed the bull by the horns. He is finally sending out the 3rd issue to most of those who requested it today. We also started sorting through the many, many submissions we received throughout our break. So continue sending them in. Also, if you still want a copy and some stickers contact one of us at let us know!!!

PS, we are looking for more artwork all you artists out there.

I wish I had a computer so I could resume 50-to-1. It really makes me sad. I miss it. All I can do is check the email whenever I get a short period to use the Internet.

Remember to check back at The Broad Set, too. There is a new review of Jonathan Baumbach’s new book, YOU or the Invention of Memory. We have been trying to work with Lauren Cerand some more. Hopefully, you'll be pleased.

This is the cool idea that I mentioned before. We will be discussing it at TBSWC soon.

I haven't looked at The Definition in weeks. But I think that its a good thing. Now I can go back and work on it some more. I've been researching some places to send the manuscript after I finish it. That's about it.

Anyone out there want to publish an unknown, unheard-of author who's barely 22 and fresh out of college? haha It'll be fun, I promise.

A Quickie at Brickbat

Last night I was in Philly to see Mickey Hess and Ben Greenman read at Brickbat Books. Also met up with some old friends. Lauren Cerand was also there. She gave us some books to review for The Broad Set. It was pretty cool to talk to her again.

Me, Pete and Kiley ventured out for the event at 7. Afterwords, we met several interesting characters, along with Hess. We will talk about them and review some of their work over at The Broad Set. Keep checking back there for their reviews and new work.

Networking is awesome. I'll talk more of it later. Time to go to work to make real money. Also, read this. Spiders are fun.

Decisions, Decisions

So I caved and got a Twitter... and now I'm addicted and can't stop updating. Whenever I think of something cool I end up texting it to my profile. But it's okay. I think that using this will help me promote myself and The Definition. I feel semi-good to good about my decision.

As mentioned, Lauren Cerand came to Rider last Thursday and she was absolutely hands-down one of the coolest people I've ever met. She gave me some valuable info on how to get my name out there. But one of the cooler things to happen - my friend Pete Richter (known for creating The Broad Set Writing Collective) introduced her to the idea and she has been checking out our blog. After reading through it a bit, she wrote about it on her blog and was highly impressed by Kiley Rummler's bio. So much so that she used her photo, too. Very cool.

The Broad Set has been gaining success from the beginning and I believe it will only help to improve our writing. Thank you, Pete.

I hope to soon resume working on 50-to-1 and Lo-Fidelity. Apologies for pausing them.

Email me if you want to read the manuscript.

Existential Meltdown

So the manuscript is finally done. At least as far as plot goes. I still need to print the sucker out and edit/revise like crazy - but afterwords it will be nice. A good feeling enters my heart and soul when I think about what I've accomplished with it (whether or not a publicist/PR wants to work with me or not). I am formally excited about it. I am going to pull a Molly Gaudry here - if anyone would like to read it and give me some feedback, feel free to email me. I'd love to trade manuscripts as well.

Anyway, meeting Lauren Cerand was awesome. She's a really cool person and definitely taught me a lot about the world of publishing. I can't wait to not be busy so I can use some of the information. Soon.

Lately I've been thinking about how much I hate all this 'twitter' banter everywhere I go. But just now I went to Sam Cicero's twitter and it made me think about getting one. But I don't know. Maybe its stupid but maybe it will help me promote the Definition. Thoughts?

My intentions with this blog post were to rant to you about how much I hate the world presently. But I think halfway through I realized that I wasn't mad at the world... or anything in it really... I just feel upset with my life. I'm having a breakdown I think. Am I blogging just to be another Tao Lin clone? Or do I actually have things to say? Am I worthless? Or do people actually care about me and/or anything I've done in my life? I feel like no one reads my blog because I never have anything important to say.

Am I succeeding or failing at existing?
