Echoes of Nostalgia

Former professor of mine, Mickey Hess, has a new book out - Nostalgia Echo. AVAILABLE NOW! For only $15!

Joe Meno says "The Nostalgia Echo is the best book you will read this year, or any year: the exact antidote to all those tired, humorless, beige-colored novels of recent memory, the writing here pops with both a dazzling intelligence and a devastating depth of character. Mr. Hess carries on in the great tradition of Vonnegut, D. Barthelme, and every other genius literary madman."

Personally, I cannot wait to get my hands on this. For those of you unfamiliar with Mickey's writing, it is intelligent, humorous, and has the ability to lift you from whatever mental state you're set in. That book you've been looking for - the one you've emptied bargain bins for - the one you've been waiting for since you fell in love with reading - that is Nostalgia Echo.

Energy and Revelation.

I've been on an Operation Ivy kick lately. I haven't listened to Energy in years and today, after listening to the album straight through, I got mad at myself for letting it sit this long. Dusty and sad.

I've also been playing Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Time consumer, time consuming, consume me.

On top of all of that, I got a Kindle Fire for Christmas, so I've also been reading non-stop. I already have 15 free ebooks, most of which are considered "the classics." Currently, though, I'm reading Milo's novel for NANOWRIMO in which Glen Danzig (no relation to Danzig of the underworld) aspires to become a spy.

Awesome.

Okay, now that I have some time off from graduate school, I can get back into my writing, my fiction, and that little box in my head where anything can happen.

Time Warp

The semester is almost over. Things are winding down. I finally have time to read fiction.

Life is awesome and so are you.
