## Stories By The Sea

(a poem) by Eric Keegan

I’ve got
These friends
Ya’ see.
Some loosely
Encountered palominos
Who drove the
Proverbial stake
Into my wandering ways
And helped nurture
Some divinity affinity
Into my journaling
Stream-of-consciousness birthright.
One resides
Along the deluge of ocean’s sea,
Mastering the harmony
Of boundless wavelengths
With the reinforcement
Of a hospitable DiY counterpart
Who provided one extra pearl
For his creative oyster necklace.
Another sautés words
With dishpan hands
And smokes horizontal timber
Straight through into
The poaching metallic
Bladder of his
Savage iron lung.
The third,
And most certainly just
As savvy and suave as
The other centripetal two
Has a lovely cat
And enough beard hair
To flourish
The most outgoing
Weaved fabric intricacies
Of a front door
Welcome mat.
