Workin' On Those Night Moves

I am alive.

Each day closer to the reading on Friday at Bluestockings (see back posts), I find myself getting more and more excited/nervous/ahhh!

I'm trying to narrow down what I want to read. I've picked a short piece from the book I'm working on, Only Human. But its rather short (approximately 600 words). Should I pick another story from the book and read two? Or just some random piece - like a poem or something? Gah. I don't know.

Speaking of Only Human... I am nearly half done. Are you curious? Email me.

Anyway, I hope you can make it out if you're in the NYC area on the 29th (this Friday). I really want you to come and hang out with The Broad Set Writing Collective.

We're a fun group of people who ultimately just want to have fun. We don't bite.

So hopefully you can come or at least spread the word. I love you. That is all.

New Ludacris and some forthcoming works

I've been reading American Psycho for the past few weeks. I'm a little over halfway done (pg 247). Each time I read a few chapters, I have to put it down and I can't look at the book for a few days. The book is so... messed up. I don't know how else to describe it. Its so violent; where does Ellis come up with the descriptions? They are so real. I don't know what else to say. I'm just extraordinarily creeped out.

In other news: The Broad Set Writing Collective has a reading at Bluestockings in NYC next Friday, January 29th. See some details.

I have stories forthcoming in the following magazines (and am very proud/excited about each one!): The2ndHand, Squatbox, Radioactive Moat, Nanoism, Venture, and (The Broad Set's print magazine) Avalanche Tinder 3.

January has been an awesome month for me so far! Lots of snowboarding and writing.

But I really need a job. Anyone looking for employees? Shoot me an email!

There is a lot more I want to mention here but I have to go fix my Jeep. The brakes need to be replaced. I'll say it all next time.

The Broad Set READING Jan. 29 (PROMO POST)

Awful alternative bands aside, coming to The Broad Set Writing Collective's reading on January 29th will be as much fun as smashing pumpkins with a baseball bat.

Is there anything more fun than that? Probably, but for the purpose of my analogy... no. haha

EVENT DETAILS:

The Broad Set is reading at Bluestockings in NYC: 172 Allen Street between Stanton and Rivington.
January 29, 2010 from 7pm to 9pm.

Featured writers include: Mickey Hess, Peter Richter, Andrew Kaspereen, Sam Cicero, Robin Barletta, Paul Mullin and Glen Binger. Plus more.

Other planned "activities" include: premiering Avalanche Tinder 3, free copies of all editions (current and prior), free copies of The2ndHand broadsheets, and, of course, our popular grab bag!

Other important links: Facebook open event (join!), Bluestockings website, Village Voice, Pete's tumblr, Hulk Hogan.

So there you have it. Definitely plan on making it out to the reading. It promises to be one of the best yet. AND it's in the city this time. Come say hi to any of us and you won't be let down.

Most importantly... PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!

Thanks, I love you.
